The Parish Nurse Nook

One called, one sent
One seeking God and will not relent.
A skill given, a talent used.
Finding God in more than our parishes or church pews.
Communication therapeutic and bold-
Filled with humor and laughter for the soul.
A sensitive spirit, a caring heart.
Seeking God’s purpose and direction from the start.
I see you, I feel your pain –
I assess your needs not for personal gain.
How can I help you?
What can I do?
Without communication I don’t have a clue.
I am your neighbor, I am your friend,
May I ask what faith community you attend?
Am I crossing your boundary?
Am I being too bold?
What needs do you have that I could be told?
Oh, yes I do see and I hear your pain.
Thank you for trusting me enough to explain.
Let’s make a plan – have a fresh start-
Thank you for trusting me with your heart.
A gift given, a blessing bestowed.
A trust established, a life unfolds.
A journey begins for you and me.
And we thank God together on bended knee.
My heart is full and I give thanks to thee.
For I am your parish nurse you see. Amen
