Over the past several months OPNN leadership has developed a strategic plan for our organization. New goals, mission, and vision have been developed and an organizational name change to reflect the new Scope and Standards of Faith Community Nursing.

Vision Statement

๏FCNA-OK will be recognized so that faith community nursing will be accessible to the people of Oklahoma. Therefore this association will serve as a model for other states.

๏Promote standards for basic and ongoing faith community nursing education.

๏Increase awareness and visibility of Faith Community Nursing Association (FCNA) and establish Faith Community Nursing (FCN) as a distinct nursing specialty.

๏Develop and support FCN resource center at Catholic Charities

a.Advocate for state wide legislative efforts related to health issues from the context of faith (marginalized people, homeless, increasing Hispanics)

b.Collaborate with relevant organizations.

c.Develop and maintain source of sustainable funding and income for FCNA OK and management

d.Develop regional support entities for FCN.

๏To establish and implement a statewide documentation program of data collection, retrieval, analysis and reporting in order to evaluate the impact of faith community nursing in Oklahoma.
